Quixosis – Poncho ácido EP

With Akumandra, one thing is for certain: you can expect the unexpected. For their 20th release, Ecuadorean producer Quixosis delivers three tracks that show off his exceptional sound design and attention to detail. The title track is a glistening juxtaposition of acidic synths and organic rhythms that steadily rise and fall. “Lisergium tremens” feels familiar, as it picks up where “Poncho Acido” left off, but descends and gnarls its way through a repeating vocal sample. “Tierra, Madera y Fuego” on the other hand, slowly builds into a march of uncertainty and belonging, with its reliable bassline, hypnotic shakers, eerie synths, and supernatural soundscapes. This release is not to be missed!
